J.C.Turecek
A dermatologist of some 40 years standing, I was inspired to take up painting by a Greenborough optometrist whom I consulted in 2010. A Greensborough artist, Lana Hosking who had had tuition from Ev Hales, nurtured my interest in both watercolour and oil painting and recommended that I join the Diamond Valley Art Society( DVAS).There I had a few group lessons from Marie Perryman( now living in Bannockburn) who has a special interest in painting flowers, Diana Jackson who instructed on wet-on-wet and John Rickard who imparted wisdom and experience regarding the basics of watercolour painting, perspective, tonal values and pen& wash
Late in 2012, I joined the watercolor classes conducted initially by Vivienne Sterndale and later in 2013 by Julianne Beckham at the Rosanna Fire station Community Centre.
I have enjoyed participating in workshops run by Amanda Hyatt and John Orlando Birt and en-plein air sketching, around Melbourne, with Julieanne Beckham.
I find painting and drawing a relaxing (and addictive) pastime- a pursuit and journey that can be enjoyed in the face of advancing age.
