My love affair with the visual arts began with being introduced to copperplate writing and plaster of paris sculpture by my father from the age of three. In my twenties, I built my first gas-fired kiln for raku pottery. This led to three years study at the then Canberra School of Art from 1974-76. \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\nIn the late 1980\'s I became known for painting flowers and small whimsical faces but after moving to the country in 1996 my work changed markedly. Since the 15 year sojurn in the country 140 kms from Brisbane, the underlying theme of my work became focussed on the environment. I pay homage to and honour this wonderful planet which sustains us all and which, sadly, we often take for granted.
