I am Zimbabwean born and raised and I’m loving being in a phase of my life journey of exploring my creativity and not being afraid to dream for big things! I am a hobby artist and am constantly exploring what art means to me and what I can contribute to the art world with my talent.
I moved to Melbourne in 2003 to do an undergraduate degree and have since studied several other courses, the latest of which is probably the most fulfilling – a Certificate in Visual Arts. Over the past year (2013), I’ve done work with wood, wire and plaster sculptures, lino-cut prints and oil painting, and am hoping to get my hands even more dirty with more exciting activities this year.
Being at art school has given me the opportunity to explore this amazing city I live in – from excursions to Melbourne’s high-end galleries to walking down the city’s graffiti’d laneways – to class discussions (sometimes debates!) about “what’s art and what’s not art?” - it all comes full circle to helping me appreciate the different expressions of art in this city!
Drawing my inspiration from pretty much anything and everything around me, I have to say that I’m very excited to be able to get the chance to do the thing that I love and to give a voice to the gift that God gave me. So thank you for joining me on this stretch of the journey and looking forward to seeing where this road will lead!
